Friends for Life!

So, as many of you know, Freshman year was one of my absolute highs in life, loved every single non-sleep getting, dancing in the elevators, nickname giving, spying on would-be crushes, laughing minute of it! The best part of all was the great friends that I made! So, what a treat that me and 2 of my favorite friends from BYU: Kim (we go back to freshman year at Skyline :) and Kammy and their cute kids all got together. It was like no time had passed, laughing as usual at all of the fun memories and how life has changed, but not them, not even one bit. They are still the fun-loving, beautiful, great friends. Seriously, everyone deserves to have good friends like them and I'm just happy that they're mine. Here's just a few pics of our day together. I have to say I'm impressed the kids were such good sports after how many pics we took :)

summertime!

Wow I love summer!! It's my favorite time of the year. I love how everyone's outside, people seem happier and of course my favorite part is coming home. So, had to cram all of the fun on this post. We had a family BBQ/Swim Party and had so much fun chatting/swimming. Kudos to the Jones' for keeping their pool the most ideal temp. for swimming. It made me a little sad to see all of my cute nieces and nephews growing up and so quick, sometimes I just want time to freeze! I'm sorry and not to be partial, but aren't they seriously the cutest bunch of kids? I've also included a classic pic of my Mom's first intro to guitar hero and Mindy's accompanying reaction. I know everyone says this about their families, but I really mean it, I don't know how I lucked out to be placed in the family I was, I couldn't ask for a more amazing set of parents or brothers and sisters!

In the merry old land of Oz

I've decided even if you've seen something before, seeing it with friends/family again is priceless because of their reactions, it's like seeing it again for the 1st time. Last Saturday we went and saw "Wicked": I love this show,! Love the music, love the message, love the humor, love it all! Anyway, it was so great, Mark and Beck made the trek all the way down from Folsom with all 5 of the kids and Mind flew in from Salt Lake. The night of the show it was Mark, Beck, Mind, Parker, McCall and I, we went to dinner at a cozy (codeword: dumpy) little Italian place for dinner, Kim Pee should remember this well :) , then stopped off at a Salvation Army store (that could only be in Hollywood: purple wigs, thigh high boots, flame eyeglasses) to find a sweater for Parker since he didn't have one, who knew how chilly it would be? (FYI he didn't end up getting one :) Then we enjoyed the show. I love the Pantages theater, sure it's in kind of a trashy area, but it is so neat and old Hollywood inside. The show was great, especially seeing how into it everyone was. After the show we stopped for pics and lo and behold found the star of a "real legend".

I love my job.....

seriously, although my job can be a tad stressful at times, i really do love it and one of the best things about it is the funny things kids say/do, they crack me up! and half the time they don't realize how funny they are. so without further ado, have to share a few funny stories that happened today. one of the little girls i was working with had just come from the office and i asked her why she had to go up there to which she replied..."i had to give something to the vice princess" (i bet that made the vice principal's day). then later this afternoon, i was working w/2 of my favorite little kids, two little kindergartners. i was having them go through this obstacle course where they had to walk on foot/hand prints and crawl through this long cloth tunnel. so after they both went through, they looked at me and said "now it's your turn ms. kim". i was cracking up thinking how am i ever going to fit through this tiny tunnel? but figured, hey if i'm expecting them to do it, so i made the effort and at last made it through but can't say it was without a struggle. so at the end of our session, we were working at the table and all of a sudden the principal got on over the loud speaker and started making an announcement. i kept talking to them, telling them what we were going to do next when one of the little boys held my finger up to my mouth, and had me copy his other hand making a peace sign in the air....(like they do when the teacher wants them to be quiet in class) too funny!

Stairway to Heaven....or Hell!

So my friend Heather came into town for a visit this weekend and Sat. morning we decided to go do the Santa Monica Stairs, a famous spot around here to get a serious calf and glute workout and for some nice eye candy :). Let's just say: mission accomplished! Oh my gosh! My legs are killing me still! So funny b/c now that I'm in pain it's like stairs, stairs, everywhere stairs! In our ward chapel, you have to go up and down a flight of stairs to get to the classes and in my apt., yep have to go up a flight of stairs to get to my room. It has been torture!
